The Miss Universe GB team would like
to congratulate Lisa Lazarus, our current winner, who has landed
the lead role in a Bollywood blockbuster. In December, 21-year-old
Lisa Lazarus, jumped on a plane to Mumbai to star in Veer, alongside
Indian heartthrob Salman Khan. She was chosen by the producers
who had been impressed with her appearance representing Great
Britain at Miss Universe in Vietnam. Here’s the link to
Lisa being greeted by the paparazzi in Mumbai:

Lisa wrote: Today I returned
from an amazing trip to Vietnam. The Miss Universe girls and
the team have been my family for the past month and it was hard
to say goodbye. The experience was amazing and something I will
never forget, I feel I have done my best and wish Miss Venezeula
good luck. It is nice to be back in the UK and I look forward
to spending the rest of my year as Miss Universe GB.

Lisa wrote: This week I
am going to visit Kemal from Big Brother 6. He was one of the
judges at the final and is a highly experienced runway trainer.
He’s kindly offered to teach me everything I need to know
to look perfect on the catwalk. He is truly gifted and I can’t
wait to work with him.

Lisa wrote: Earlier this
month I had to put the celebrations aside to concentrate on
my university exams, but now that they are over for the summer
I can spend my time making sure I am at my best for the final.
Picking my wardrobe has been my favourite part. I spent the
whole day in the Dress-Stop.com
showroom and got to try on all the amazing dresses. The worst
part had to be deciding which ones to take as they are all so
gorgeous! I have also had my national costume fitted so the
dress fits perfectly. I absolutely love it and think I will
have a very good chance at winning ‘Best National Costume’,
fingers crossed. Some pictures of the dresses are shown
below - click on on to view it full-size!

Lisa wrote: It's been such
a whirlwind of experiences since the final, I haven’t
had two minutes to sit down and take in what has gone on. When
I entered the competition winning was only a dream, but now
it is reality. I couldn’t believe it when my name was
called as the winner, I have worked so hard and put all my efforts
into the competition, it was the greatest feeling to win. Since
being crowned Miss Universe GB 2008 I have been busy with all
the preparations for the Miss Universe final which is in Vietnam
in only six weeks, it has been such an exciting experience.
I have spent most of my time doing interviews; the coverage
has been amazing not only from newspapers and magazines but
also for the University, they have been very supportive since
I have won and I have been branded Hertfordshire’s Brains
and Beauty. |
Lisa Lazarus is crowned
Miss Universe GB 2008 at a gliettering ceremony in London.
