Hi, I'm Miranda. I am a personal trainer, Barre and Pilates instructor from north London. My goal is to empower women, to build confidence through fitness and to change how young women perceive their body image because we all too often have negative and critical views of ourselves which is damaging to self-worth and mental wellbeing. My aim is to help women to achieve the best version of themselves as well as to encourage them to unlock their inner strength and discover true potential. Aside from health and fitness, I am also passionate about learning languages. I have a masters degree in translation and interpreting and a first class honours degree in modern foreign languages. I speak Spanish, Portuguese and Greek fluently and am currently learning Italian. I love meeting people from all over the world! I also have a serious travel bug having lived in Spain, Portugal and California as well as embarking on trips to Cuba, Peru, Brazil, and Vietnam to name a few. Completing the seven day climb to Macchu Picchu in freezing conditions is one of my greatest achievements to date. I look forward to this new adventure to come with Miss Universe Great Britain!

I currently work as a cabin crew for British Airways, which is empowering to know that I am an ambassador for my country each day I fly for the British national flag carrier. I love to explore new cultures and meet people from every corner of the world. It is a fantastic opportunity to learn new languages too! I recently visited China, where I learned a little Mandarin and walked 10 miles of The Great Wall of China!

Previous to this, I worked at Disneyland Paris, playing the Disney Princesses! It was the best job in the world, making little dreams come true every day. And having known none of the language, I was a confident French speaker within just 10 months. I also have three diplomas including a post graduate diploma with distinction from the British Academy of Interior Design.
I am an advocate for empowering teen girls to feel confidently beautiful. As an older sister, I realised the negative effects social media can have on young girls' confidence and self-esteem. Platforms such as Instagram, where celebrities promote unrealistic images of perfection, can affect teen girls' ideas on what is 'beautiful'.

This inspired me to start my own foundation called 'The Big Sister Project', which aims to provide confidence building workshops for teenage girls in schools. These workshops encourage young girls to feel confidently beautiful, regardless of what they look like, or what society tells them. I recently visited a children's orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya where I was able to use empowerment tools from my workshops with some of the young girls there who had experienced trauma, and I would love to provide these workshops to more girls worldwide.

My name is Ria, I am 23-years-old and I am from the small but beautiful city of St. Albans in Hertfordshire. My home town is steeped in history dating back to the Romans and so I have grown up with a genuine love and passion to learn about our countries unique heritage. I have been able to combine this passion with one of my favourite hobbies which is reading, This is something I am especially grateful to my mum for encouraging me to do this from a young age as I do not go anywhere without a book!

I have always been a consistent and avid participant and supporter of the creative arts from drama to the fine arts. From studying it at school to practising in my spare time I went on to complete a fine art and history of art degree at Hertfordshire University. Upon graduating, I wanted to take some time out to indulge in my love of travel. I try to go to a new destination every year so that I can explore as much of the world as possible. Last year I took six months out and lived in and travelled around Europe in a self-converted VW caddy camper van with my partner, it was one of the most unique and incredible experiences I have ever done. My next goal will be to travel Australia in the same way.

I am so honoured to be a finalist this year especially as 2018 is the year of the woman and I couldn't be more excited for this incredible experience!

I am a big hearted, down to earth girl from the beautiful seaside town of Margate. This is my first pageant so it's an amazing honour to be selected and I am very grateful for this opportunity. I feel I have made it this far because I believe in the law of attraction, I trust that it is possible to achieve anything in life, as long as you believe in yourself and your goals while continually remaining positive even in the face of knock backs. This competition to me isn't just about winning the title it is about making a difference, supporting worthy causes and bringing change in every little way that I can to empower woman from all walks of life. I am a hard-working postwoman for the Royal Mail a job that I love, I feel I have proven you can be girly, wear fake tan, and heels but also be strong, get dirty, build muscle and work in a very male dominated industry that for many years had been gender segregated. I am proud to be treated as an equal and get the job done just as well as all the men which I feel is such an important message for all woman. I have also graduated University with a 2.1 in Fashion Design, which I apply to my personal life, making my own clothes, upcycling old clothes and even making little outfits for my dog! For me winning this competition would be life changing.

I was born in South Africa to a Scottish father and South African mother.

I'm a singer-songwriter who has performed on some of the biggest stages in the world, Coachella, Sónar and Ultra Miami. I have a licensing deal with Sony Music, have had five #1 hits in South Africa and am currently studying at Berkeley College Of Music.

I have competed three times at the World Equestrian Games. First as a vaulter (gymnastics on horseback) and twice as a show jumper.

I have a passion for conservation and community upliftment. I'm a WWF ambassador specific to the rhino and feel strongly about preserving the world's heritage for future generations. I run my own social responsibility program 'Music Heals' where song and dance are used to educate and empower children around issues related to sexual abuse. I hope to grow this into a fully-fledged NPO that makes a difference in many lives.

My work and love of travel have taken me to every continent and 36 countries around the world. I am fun-loving and adventurous, have hiked the Inca trail to Machu Picchu, sky dived and bungee jumped off the highest bridge jump in the world, Bloukrans.

I love spending time with my family, and am equally happy on the catwalk as I am mucking out a stable.

I have always dreamt big and I believe the formula to success is to put 100 per cent in everything you do.

I pride myself on my work ethic and this, combined with ambition, has been the foundation to carving myself a career as an international model.

My modelling has allowed me to travel to many beautiful corners of the world and these experiences have made me the independent woman I am today.

When I'm not in front of a camera I love to express my creativity behind the camera. Photography is a passion of mine that is growing. I’ve even shot a couple of weddings!

In 2012 I had lifesaving surgery that left me with a sizeable scar on my abdomen. I am so honoured to be an ambassador for Amred Healthcare, a company whose mission is to reduce the appearance of scaring and raise self-esteem.

My future endeavours will include developing my children's wear brand and continuing to be my own boss, build an empire and inspire others to do the same.

Miss Universe is an organisation I have long admired and to hold the torch for Great Britain would be a complete honour.

As a half Greek Cypriot, family has always been at the heart of my life, and hard work and ambition a part of my culture. I strongly believe that with the right attitude and belief from a young age, everyone has the ability to get to where they want to be in life, and much of what I do is trying to inspire this in children. As a performing arts teacher for Stage Coach I spend my weekends teaching children to be confident and creative within themselves, as well as working at a children's charity as my full-time job. Aside from my professional endeavours, I am always staying active, whether working out or walking, and, of course, enjoy exposing myself to different cuisines. I couldn't be more excited to start my Miss Universe GB journey; I feel honoured to be accepted as one of the finalists. For me the whole journey is the most enjoyable part and I can't wait to start raising money for the chosen charities. At the end of this experience I hope to be able to empower women and inspire others to achieve whatever they desire, whoever they are and wherever they may come from.

My motto in life is to be the change you want to see in the world. When I was 13, I started up my own foundation, Lovekidz, which I have used to run workshops for young people on a variety of personal development lessons. It has been incredible to watch others grow and has taught me that one small act of kindness can create a ripple effect and inspire others to do the same. I have been blessed to have coached at dozens of leadership events around the world and help to take others to where they want to be. This has involved teaching others to break through wooden boards as a symbol that they can break through anything.

In my modelling career, I have gained insights into the fashion industry and was lucky to give a TED talk last year on the 'Myth of Perfection.' Having brought together my lessons from the personal development world, I am in the process of writing a self-help book and recently gave a TED talk in Texas on 'Embracing uncertainty' to inspire others to not be afraid of making change. I am extremely passionate about the study of human behaviour and how we can break bad patterns, and have been extensively researching and tutoring psychology for the past year. I have also spent this time travelling and have loved learning about the behaviour in different cultures, but believe that we all come together at the end of the day. I would love to be Miss Universe GB because I know that my purpose is to help others and would like to have a louder voice in sharing the importance of self-love. I strongly believe that every solution starts with the 'self', and that if people learn to love themselves then they will love others too. The world can truly change when judgment disappears.

Hello! My name is Victoria, I’m 27 and I’m from Liverpool. I feel very honoured and lucky to be a part of the Miss Universe Great Britain final. I want to demonstrate that anything is possible when you put your mind to it. At a very young age I developed an eating disorder, only seeking support at the age of 23, having now recovered, I want to share my journey and inspire men and women to be the best version of themselves they can be, whilst always staying true to yourself.

I have always had a need and want to help those in need, which led me to undertake my first degree in Law LLB (Hons). However, when in recovery I came across the profession of Occupational Therapy and knew straight away this was the profession for me. In order to achieve this, I went back to university and undertook two masters degrees; Psychology MSc and Occupational Therapy MSc. I am now able to give back all the help and support I have received, in my job as an occupational therapist, which I absolutely love!

Miss Universe to me, is a strong independent woman, who goes after her dreams, whatever they may be, whatever she may face. Demonstrating the importance of being true to yourself and supporting others along the way. If I have one message to share it would be this; it does not matter how slow you go, as long as you don’t stop!

“As long as you keep your kind heart and respectful manor, you are going to be a leader amongst your peers and change the world”. Miss USA 2017 – Kara McCullough.

I have always believed that we need to use our abilities, skills and strength to help improve others` lives and for them to find the strength in themselves to overcome difficulties they face. I graduated in business studies and worked in managing construction projects, a highly male dominated field, and volunteered for a charity managing the building of homes for the homeless. I have lived, studied and worked as a model in several continents and love learning from different cultures. I speak four languages fluently and volunteered teaching English to an under-privileged indigenous community in Brazil. I am honoured to be a finalist in Miss Universe Great Britain and will work with A-Sisterhood to help protect and support women around the world. I worked for Refuge, a charity that helps women whom are victims of domestic violence and I am doing a post-graduate in law and want to continue to help women whom are victims of abuse. I also aspire to improve access to good education around the world which I believe is the foundation for women to be treated equally, respectfully and for them to achieve all their goals in life. It would be a dream come true to win Miss Universe and bring back this amazing title for Great Britain and show young ladies that with belief, hard work and determination there are no limits to what you can accomplish.

I'm Samantha, a professional dancer and ballet teacher at The Mandy & Shirley Morris School of dance I am also the ballet coach to the Welsh Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastic Team. My ambition in life has always been to help others and to make a difference, in whatever way possible. We live in a wonderful yet terrifying world where life really is a lottery; being a part of this global pageant will help me and the other finalists to make a difference especially with our chosen charities A-Sisterhood. Last year I raised six thousand pounds for our Save The Children by putting on a one-night spectacular at St David's Hall Cardiff with The Mandy & Shirley Morris School of Dance. I felt a huge sense of achievement watching these young children dancing on stage, knowing that they were raising money to send to children in desperate need. I believe there is no greater feeling than knowing you have made a difference to someone else's life. Hopefully I will have inspired all my students to grow in confidence and to follow me in helping others and making a difference to the world. I am so excited and grateful to be a finalist in Miss Universe Great Britain. I aspire to become the best woman I can be and look forward to all the challenges ahead.

My name is Emily and I am a British designer who has grown up and lived in Middlesex, London.

My credentials include achieving a foundation diploma in art and design at the London College of Fashion and graduating from Middlesex University with a degree in fashion design. While working towards my degree, I interned at some major fashion houses such as Alexander McQueen.

After much hard work and determination, I fulfilled my life-long dream and launched my own fashion brand called Aloura London. Aloura is a luxury womenswear brand with a focus on embellished eveningwear dresses. We stock in boutiques worldwide as well as on our own website and others.

I love to travel and explore new places, meet new people and immerse myself in other cultures. I believe travelling is one of the greatest ways to experience life, learn and grow. My other hobbies include swimming, scuba-diving, and skiing.

I am passionate about making a difference globally and changing lives. I am a strong believer of equal female rights, and I strive to support women who need our help. It is time for all women to stand together to have their voices heard. Miss Universe GB would accelerate this and be the perfect platform to make a difference in this world and raise these issues.

In a society that is progressively making strides, yet still clinging to convention, now more than ever is the time to champion women.

Women are like beautiful diamonds. Multi-faceted, no two exactly the same, a diamonds beauty lies in the uniqueness of its size, colour, shape and even in its flaws. Just like a diamond, I believe in celebrating the diversity that makes us who we are, and what makes us unique.

As a graduate journalist, I have seen first-hand the ways in which the media perceive women. Often one-dimensional, I am committed to changing how women are portrayed. My role as a financial journalist and economics marketer allows me to proudly make waves in a traditionally male dominated industry.

I am fiercely passionate about sharing the stories and experiences of others, and through championing women's charities and launching my website, Feminists in Heels, I am giving women a platform to speak, grow and to express themselves freely.

While I have had a quality education here in Britain and the opportunity to work overseas, covering Europe, Australia and the Americas, many women do not. Education is the key to empowerment, so I would like to use the Miss Universe platform for reading and writing initiatives worldwide.

I'm extremely grateful to be one of the women walking the stage of Miss Universe GB this year, I am making the most out of this wonderful opportunity I've been given!

From a young age I always knew I wanted to be a professional dancer. My great training, endless support and my commitment and passion was just the beginning of a rewarding career.

My dancing has given me the opportunity to see a lot of the world which I will always be eternally thankful for!

Travelling the world has made me realize what a great country we live in and I am so proud to have been given the chance of representing GB on an international stage. If I won the title I would use it to inspire the world to live in harmony and to give people confidence of being happy in their own skin.

'All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them'. My dream is to be representing Great Britain on the Miss Universe stage and hope to bring home the crown that we have always deserved!

At the age of 16 I started a small interior design business and now I am studying a part-time diploma in interior design at the University of Westminster. Homes and design have always been a passion of mine and I am aspiring to get on the property ladder and build on my business. Whilst studying I also work full time for Connells Estate Agents.

After visiting an orphanage in Africa last year, that had recently been attacked, it became apparent to me that I want to be able to help and work with people in need worldwide. I want to use my voice for others that are unable to use theirs.

Now, aged 22, I have been given this amazing opportunity and platform to help me do just that. I have decided to work on a campaign/program to help young girls protect themselves from violence and difficult situations that they may face. Having trained in martial arts from a young age I want to use my skills and knowledge, to help young girls not only protect themselves but to build up their confidence as well.

With a passion for fashion steaming from an early age, I've managed to a build career doing exactly what I love. Working as a blogger has given me amazing opportunities that I'll never take for granted, it's also given me a platform to develop, educate and inform girls on current and relevant events in today's world. Blogging has also allowed me to develop my charity works in The Congo and I have the privilege of continuously supporting an orphanage in Congo with the help of my mother. I find my work and social life very rewarding and believe it's because of the different girls I meet day in day out that make me strive to continue breaking boundaries for the good of women across the globe. If ever I wanted my blog to leave a lasting impression it would be that I was a proud feminist, human rights activist, manager and fashion blogger.

My name is Lucy and I live in the beautiful county of Surrey in England.

I believe having the chance to make a difference and to be a voice for others in this world is so important, I feel extremely passionate about helping and being kind to the people that need it the most.

In my collage years I studied beauty therapy and I soon realised skin was my main interest, as I suffer from extreme eczema and I knew I wanted to help others with similar issues, so I continued to further my education in skin science to become a skin specialist. I worked in this industry for two years before having a change in life and venturing into the world of modelling. I now work as a model on the shopping channel QVC, which I absolutely love!

In my spare time I love to travel and have been extremely fortunate to travel to many wonderful places all over the world. Last year I had the opportunity to visit Pakistan were I worked within a team to create a movement uniting nations using the power of sport which was a fantastic experience.

I also enjoy supporting charities and in 2015 I was an ambassador for the charity Action Medical Research which helps fund medical research to beat the diseases that devastate the lives of so many children.

My love for Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice spurred me to move to the United Kingdom in 2013 to study law at the University of Birmingham. I am currently completing my professional training at the University of Law and will soon become a barrister.

I was raised on the picturesque, 35 square-mile, eel-shaped British Overseas Territory of Anguilla. Growing up I had an affinity with the outdoors and loved climbing trees and helping my mom on her farm. My preference for the outdoors lead me to pursue football and athletics at a competitive level and my determination allowed me to compete at the Commonwealth Games in athletics on two occasions.

I believe that life's true purpose is about using the time we have to connect meaningfully with people and experience the world. Therefore, despite my intense fear of flying, I have travelled to China, India, El Salvador and Mexico for athletic competitions. I still maintain friendships from these trips and have found incredible joy in salsa dancing. Outside of law I love to read and play a bit of challenging sudoku, a habit I picked up from my grandmother who is about to celebrate her 100th birthday this year.

'See yourself in others' is something I firmly believe in and through my passion for animal rights, I support multiple charities and hope to help reduce the negative environmental impact of agriculture. We are living in a time where we women are able to stand up for what we believe in, and our voices are being heard. I would use the title to promote gender equality and to encourage girls to fight for their beliefs. It would be a wonderful honour to represent my country Great Britain on the international stage and meet strong, confident women from around the world.

As an executive assistant, having graduated in English language and communication, I am hard-working and driven as well as compassionate and family-orientated.

I am 20-years-old, from Manchester. I work as a showroom host at Guy Salmon Jaguar Landrover during the week. I also have established my own business 'Glampire' which I have successfully run for three years (I was 17 when I first started my beauty business), I started out mobile and I am now salon based. I plan on bringing out my own cruelty free cosmetics line and setting up free workshops for girls and women who may not have had easy lives and need help with starting their own careers in the industry.

I am also an ambassador for Just Strong which is a brand which supports, encourages and empowers women, I feel I am really suited to this as I am very passionate about the message to empower women and all come together and be strong.

I'd describe myself as very motivated and emotionally intelligent, I enjoy helping others and will always go out of my way to make sure I’m doing as much as I possibly can.

One of my biggest aspirations in life is to set my own charity up for children and adults who are victims of bullying. This is a subject that is very close to me as I have experienced it myself and want to help others in that situation.

As a professional in finance I am also a model, beauty/travel and lifestyle blogger who has had success with major brands and high street names. I support women fully to strive for what they truly want in life and I like to add energy to that motion.

I dream big, set goals and most of the time achieve enough to satisfy my thirst. This drive has rallied my many charity fund raising efforts. I am one of the top three per cent of just giving fundraisers in the country. Over the last five years I have raised more than £500 for various charities.

Dedication to health and fitness is one of my key interests; this often sets me up for new challenges such as heli-skiing, snow hiking and participating in mud runs. My passions include reading, writing, travelling, performing arts, photography, enjoying food, blogging and soaking up the latest fashion and business news.

Travelling is my favorite pastime and I have visited countries with varied culture such as India, USA, China, Sri Lanka and the Philippines. I have always been very independent and have travelled alone to various foreign places.

I believe competing in Miss Universe GB is not only empowering but it also inspires women to be the best version of themselves; someone all encompassing, rounded and honest.

It would be my greatest honor to represent Great Britain in Miss Universe 2018. I will wear the title with utmost pride while dedicating myself to the role. I have dreamt about being the British titleholder for Miss Universe as long as I can remember; it would mean absolutely everything to me if I were to win.

I live to dream big, challenge myself, learn from my failures and achieve the unachieved! For many years it has been my dream represent my country at Miss Universe. I was working towards the final before I even received confirmation of my place in the final because it would mean the world to win!

I am half Jamaican, quarter Irish and quarter English. Combining my interest in history with my own heritage has played an important part in my personal development and pushes me to give 100% in whatever I do. I am very passionate about equality and diversity; I love getting involved in projects and campaigns that support our community. I have spoken at live political debates on several occasions to raise awareness of causes close to my heart. I am currently supporting a local charity on a mission to raise funds to build a school for young children in need of education in The Gambia. I hope to establish my own projects aimed at empowering disadvantaged and disengaged young people in the future. Pageants have been a life-long ambition of mine, and now with professional dance training and many diverse experiences under my belt I'm ready for the exciting challenge that comes with being a Miss Universe GB finalist which I am so privileged to have been selected for. I'm proud to be an only child of mixed heritage and so finding connections with people from many different backgrounds and cultures is really important to me. I have been brought up in a strong family of moral fortitude, with links to the arts, engaging with people in many countries around the world. My interests span a range of cultures and areas, from animals to economics to music, and every day I look to learn something new, which often leads to inadvertently unusual adventures! I aspire to be a unique character through travelling, helping others and for me, The Miss Universe Great Britain and ultimately Miss Universe titles would bring so many opportunities to reach out and spread positive change, happiness and enjoyment to those around the world. Opportunities like this are rare and I always look to maximise every chance to empower and support women, and MUGB is the perfect place to be for this.

I always strive to be my personal best and I believe in the importance of self-confidence. As a student counsellor, I aim to help others to develop their own self-belief. I want to make a real change on how people view mental health and pageants. I believe as Miss Universe Great Britain I can show how pageants create a network of friends who empower, inspire and encourage you every day. After overcoming an eating disorder as a teenager, I entered Miss Universe Great Britain in 2012. It allowed me to step out my comfort zone and to be myself. I feel that every single person in the world should feel they can do this. I want to build a foundation for women to feel they have a right to speak out and take on challenges. Competing in pageants has enabled me to overcome my fears and become an advocate for mental health. I am proud of my personal goals and recently setting up my own swimwear business. I am a passionate feminist and it's my time to pursue my dream of being Miss Universe Great Britain.

Born in Mumbai, India, I moved to London with my parents when I was four-years-old. I consider myself very fortunate to have within me, an amalgamation of both the rich Indian and British cultures, tradition and heritage. Above all, I am proud to be a woman and a feminist.

Feminism isn't about making women stronger. Women are already strong. It's about changing the way the world perceives that strength.

Participation in Miss Universe GB is truly a proud moment - an honour and a privilege for me and my family, but more importantly, it has provided me with an opportunity to work towards various causes on women empowerment, safety, education and healthcare as well as wild life conservation.

Pursuing a degree in medical biochemistry, I aim to dedicate myself towards cancer research and dream of having my own state-of-the-art research facility for women from under-privileged and challenged background.

Representing Great Britain at the internationals and bringing home the crown and making our country proud would be a bigger honour and would further enhance my ability to raise awareness among women that the strength to change the world lies within us. As Mother Teresa said, 'Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person'.

The past six years of my life I have been working hard towards my career as a solicitor. I completed a two year accelerated law degree and achieved the 2nd highest grade in my university while retaking my A Level and being granted a training contract by one of the best firms in Leeds. I have spent the last year completing my legal practice course and I have been working full time with my mother, helping her set up the family business.

2018 is a year where I decided to do something for me and my personal growth. Something I have dreamed of since I was I was young. Something that is engrained in my Latin roots. This year I will walk the Miss Universe GB stage and represent my country with pride and confidence. I will also be spending my year stressing the importance of mental health awareness and volunteering for charities who help survivors of sexual abuse.

As a finalist, it is my goal to inspire those who have let others dim their light, that with a lot of self-love and self-care you can achieve all your dreams.

A model by day and a baby guru by night, I am a real people person. An outgoing yet calm individual I've been meeting people of all walks of life through both of my roles and I love that I now have the opportunity to do the same through Miss Universe Great Britain. This is my third time competing and every year the competition has changed my life for the better as it encourages us to be the best versions of ourselves. It really is the best platform to help you grow as a person and I want to use this further to help girls and women gain the confidence to chase their dreams too. I am a firm believer in the message that as women if we put our minds to it we really can do anything.

I love a challenge in life and some of my greatest achievements so far have been 'my death dying fall to earth' over Australia's East Coast raising money for Rape Crisis, even with a severe fear of height; meeting some truly inspirational people- as well as the elephants - while volunteering for The Elephant Sanctuary in Chiang Mai; starting my own business this year while still working two jobs and finally, getting to be a finalist in Miss Universe Great Britain once again in the hope that I can represent our nation.

Taking part in pageants over the past few years has taught me that perseverance and hard work in endeavoring for the crown is so important, having shaped me into the strong, resilient woman I am today.

After graduating from university with a first class honors degree in journalism, I decided to take a year out from further study and pursue my second passion of modelling. I aim to return to university in September to study a masters in broadcast journalism, after having fallen in love with the bustle of a busy newsroom.

Walking the Miss Universe stage has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, so being a finalist is allowing me to be one step closer to making this a reality.

I will be using my time as a Miss Universe Great Britain finalist to raise awareness and funds for various charities including A-Sisterhood, and using my platform to speak about my mental health journey. I would hope to educate and empower young women on the pressures of social media and the effects this has on our mind and body as we live in such a technology driven world.

To share the stage with so many talented and inspiring women, I feel incredibly lucky and thankful that we can support one another through this journey. I am a passionate, driven woman and I will strive to be the best version of myself always.

Growing up in Surrey and having lived in Dubai for many years of my life has given me a broad perspective on the world which is an important characteristic that a future Miss Universe should have. Learning about different cultures and people as I've studied abroad has taught me the most important lesson of all, 'Life's most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing to help others?' Supporting and helping others who face daily obstacles has always been a prominent part of my life. Personally, dealing with mental health for the greater part of my life has allowed me to relate to the problems that many students face today. This has given me the ability to contribute in helping communities tackling barriers that some may face and the opportunity in the future to have a positive impact on this global issue. I work with schools in my local area in pursuit of my goal of having a positive impact on the world. I am passionate about animals, I am aiming to study to be a veterinary nurse and work in third world countries to educate them about animal care to better the lives of people and animals alike.

My aim in life is to empower and inspire others to be happy and achieve their dreams. I believe every small act of kindness contributes to a better world in more ways than we can imagine.

I achieved a BA Business (hons) while building my career as a model and executive assistant. I aim to have my own empire one day and inspire the next generation of female leaders.

I am currently working on a seminar to teach children in low income areas essential financial literacy, combined with goal setting and empowerment to encourage them to reach their full potential. I also run a positivity blog that I hope to turn in to a charity to empower victims of domestic violence, bullying and homelessness - all causes close to my heart.

I am embracing my responsibility as a MUGB 2018 contestant and I am hosting series of fundraising events including a self-defence class for women to help boost confidence while making friends in a truly girl power enriched environment

My message is that no matter your current or past circumstances, your potential is endless and you can achieve great things as long as you have a good heart and work hard.

Many in our world dream of jewels, crowns, sashes and unbelievable gowns. Many dream of walking in front of thousands of people, portraying strength and peacefulness, however not all have the confidence to do so. I am fairly new to pageantry having only competed in 2013, but have remained in the modelling/promotional industry and I aspire to be the woman our peers can look up to with admiration and say 'Yes she gives me the confidence to do it too'. As a keen sports women and showjumper, competing and being an example to others comes naturally to me - but it's not all plain sailing. Nobody sees the hours, days, years of blood, sweat and tears. I want to show our world that it's ok to fall sometimes and that you shouldn't be ashamed of getting back up and working even harder, even if someone tells you you're not good enough. As I was brought up in the countryside of Oxfordshire I'm naturally a tough cookie but strength is a personal goal and you have to be prepared to work hard! I'm Jessie, aged 22 and I'm running for the title of Miss Universe GB with love, passion and determination.

I am a woman with a desire, a dream and a vision. I was raised by two influential women, my mum and grandma who told me I can be whoever I want to be. They taught me to treat others how you wish to be treated, and keep chasing your dreams - and that I am.

This is my third year competing for the title and my determination to succeed has grown even stronger. This isn't just a title to me this is a platform where I can make a difference for our younger generation as I want to use the title of MUGB to go to schools and speak to children about domestic violence as they need to know the difference between; physical, mental, and sexual abuse. I work full time in the pharmaceutical industry.

In my spare time you will find me in the gym, flipping tractor tyres (without breaking a nail) or boxing, I am a Southpaw. I love dogs they are my weakness and I have a cheeky Bassett Hound called Nelson.

I aspire to be the best possible version of myself and hope to inspire others to be confidently beautiful in their own skin and stand up to what they believe in.
