Having travelled to many countries, what I have come to realise about us all is that despite our differences in appearances, cultures and languages we are all fundamentally the same. We have dreams and aspirations, we hope, love, laugh; at times feel the unavoidable feeling of fear and sadness too. However, I believe what differentiates us are the choices we make and what we do with the opportunities presented before us. I want to be a voice to many women and young girls around the universe, inspire them to make the right choices, provide opportunities for them to reach their potentials and encourage them to have confidence that they are truly beautiful just the way they are. To do this while representing Great Britain will show the world that we celebrate beauty in diversity but above all itíll be an honour and a dream come true! Miss Universe is one of the biggest pageants in the world bringing together women that are like minded and have the agenda of spreading positivity. I believe there is nothing more inspiring and no bond stronger than when women come together in unity to elevate and celebrate one anotherís beauty and good works.

Hello everyone, my name is Sharlene, 20-year-old business and management student at Birmingham City University. I am also a certified lifeguard, play for the university football team and also work part time as a student voice assistant supporting students building positive social relationships. I enjoy meeting people, travelling and experiencing different cultures and traditions. My aspirations in life is simply to be the best I can be, to run and manage my own business someday, to be a role model and be able to inspire others irrespective of their ethnic backgrounds; to believe in themselves that through hard work, perseverance, will power and by staying optimistic we can achieve our goal. In the run-up to the event I will also be doing my best to fund raise money for Strongbones Children's Charitable Trust which includes taking part in a half marathon run. Miss Universe GB is a great platform to not only voice myself but to speak out for others in the result of making a positive change. I am thrilled and thankful to have been chosen as one of the finalists to partake in this prestigious event Miss Universe GB 2016. Itís going to be a huge adventure full of fun and great memories to cherish.

My name is Katherine-Elyse Blake, I am 26 years old and my dream is to represent Great Britain at Miss Universe. I am extremely ambitious and one day aim to run my own nutricuetical/ nutricosmetic company in which a percentage of the profits will go to aid in the vital delivery of nutrients to third world countries. After achieving my degree in nutrition and my masters in marketing, I now work in product development. A job which I truly love. Alongside my work, I also run a nutrition for beauty blog which aims to empower, educate, build confidence and enable others to achieve their individual health and beauty objectives. I am extremely active and am so in love the outdoors. Running is a huge passion of mine and last year I completed my first marathon, running for the most amazing charity-Children with Cancer. I love all that the Miss Universe GB pageant stands for. MUGB has taught me that they sky is the limit and that truly anything is possible. I wish to inspire this way of thinking and self-belief in others. I believe that Miss Universe GB provides such an incredible platform for both girls and charitable organisations and it would be such an honour to act as an ambassador and represent my incredible country on the international stage.

ďStrive not to be a success, but rather to be of valueĒ. My name is Christa and this is the motto I endure to stand up for every single day. Iím an individual full of compassion, aspirations and dreams! Iím a fashion merchandising assistant from London and the reigning titleholder for Miss Philippines UK. I enjoy cheerleading, hip-hop dancing, beauty pageants and giving back to charitable causes close to my heart. I believe in living life to the fullest but most importantly, I believe in helping others, remaining humble and staying true to ourselves no matter how successful you are in life. I am proud to have raised money for St. Lukeís Hospice, organised a fashion show for Cradle and volunteered for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home for three years. Iím keen to continue my efforts in raising social awareness especially with my upcoming charity visit to Philippines. I am blessed to be part of such loving family that possesses strength and independence. My mother - who is the breadwinner of our family - sacrificed everything just to provide for her children. My two older sisters, Christine, who was born physically disabled fought her way around and excelled well in her studies. Chriszelle on the other hand, experienced so many hardships in life that her emotional intelligence, positivity & character is truly admirable. And looking up to these women as my role models motivated me to work hard. Theyíve inspired me to graduate with a first class degree; theyíve encouraged me to conquer my fears and work at my dream job; and theyíve supported my journey for Miss Philippines UK. With experiences I have, I wish to bring the same influence and lead a great example to young women. Having the fortuity to represent Great Britain in one of the worldís most prestigious beauty pageant is an honour itself, and Iím forever thankful to stand alongside with so many beautiful and inspirational candidates. If Iím given the chance to walk away with the title, I will whole-heartedly embrace this opportunity with pride, continue to uphold & represent the beauty of modern British women and bring honour to our country at Miss Universe.

I am over the moon to be a contender for Miss Universe GB and potentially have the opportunity to represent Great Britain around the world. I am a model who has achieved an undergrad degree in law and a masters degree providing myself with a chartered psychologist status. I believe in the equality and empowerment of women and every day I aim to represent this belief in both my achievements and aspirations. My aspirations are to carry on travelling the world, indulging myself in different cultures and experiences, be a positive, happy individual, fulfil my dreams and be the best person I can be, pushing myself every day. I enjoy skiing, fashion, keeping up with the latest trends, blogs, you-tubers, news and modelling. I am really excited to be involved in such a powerful competition, providing myself with the opportunity to meet other like-minded driven women and to be in a competition that reflects confidence, equality and the empowerment of women. It would be a dream of mine to represent Great Britain at Miss Universe, if I was to be successful I would put my all into the title, empowering women, encouraging others to believe in themselves, being an ambassador for Britain whilst creating a legacy. I am not going to take this opportunity for granted, the way the competition has changed my life so far is incredible and I am going to work hard for the title while living life to the full. I would just like to thank everyone for the opportunity and support throughout the Miss Universe Great Britain competition and will do my all to make you proud.

As a pharmacology graduate and a STEM ambassador, I am passionate about the empowerment of woman in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) industry. I want to inspire young people to get involved in science subjects that are so important for our future. The Miss Universe GB platform gives an incredible opportunity to promote this as well as raise money and awareness for the Strongbones charity. My previous roles as president of the Pharmacology Society and a dance teacher at university gave me the chance to bring people together and develop skills to reach their goals. As a dance teacher, it was important to create an environment where girls could come out of their shells, develop confidence and conquer their fears. In the past year, pageantry has done this for me. It helped me explore my Filipina heritage and also model internationally. I want to encourage girls to go for the amazing opportunities we are privileged to have in the UK. If I have the honour of being Miss Universe GB, I will represent our nation proudly and work to the best of my ability to show that Great Britain is a strong competitor in Miss Universe 2016.

Iím currently working full-time as a model. At college I trained as a chef so Iím always cooking at home for my friends and family. Iím a keen lover of sports; I played rugby during school and was a horse rider throughout my teenage years. My favourite thing to do is spend time with my family; their endless support has allowed me to follow my dreams. I entered this competition, as the system is something I have always believed in. I believe that every woman can and should be confidently beautiful and I believe I can be a relatable role model to many women in order to convey this message. I want to win Miss Universe Great Britain. I see myself as someone who is focused, gracious and hard-working while being humble and thankful throughout their reign. It has been my goal since I entered the world of pageantry four years ago to be on the Miss Universe stage representing my home, Great Britain.

Through my passion for pageants I have been lucky enough to travel the world, meet influential, inspiring people and make friends for life. Experiencing different cultures, raising awareness and funds for charity as well as witnessing the dangers our oceans face have been life-changing moments for me. I continue to work hard and learn more about the effects of this global issue. As I run my own beauty salon, creating good work- life balance is important to me, as is spending time with my family - always make time for your loved ones. Personal goals are something I strive to achieve, I am a qualified ski instructor and more recently became a rescue diver. I enjoy exercise and love a challenge; including climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, doing some of the highest, longest and fastest zip lines in the world and scuba diving with sharks. Being a finalist in Miss Universe GB is an honour. It gives women a platform to raise awareness of good causes, pushes you to achieve, encourages you to believe in yourself and help inspire others Ė and for all of this I am extremely grateful. I am excited to meet like-minded women and I know we will have a great time. In my experience ďWhen woman support each other incredible things happen.Ē

Iím a 19-year-old hairdresser from Livingston, Scotland. My work is very rewarding all round. Hhaving worked in the hair industry since I was 13 years old I couldn't imagine anything else. Personally having the ability to make someone else feel confidently beautiful is the most rewarding job in the universe. I also have an entrepreneurial side to me, currently operating my own e-commerce business which I plan to grow into an established brand in years to come. It doesn't end there, I partially run an investment portfolio ranging from currencies, commodities and indices. This has opened up boundless educational opportunities, I plan to launch an online training group to help others do the same as I truly believe knowledge is the most valuable tool for any individual. Now, my true passion and desire lies with pageants. This industry is where I belong, I have been involved for the last three and a half years constantly striving towards my dream goal of walking on the Miss Universe stage making my family, friends and country proud. Pageantry is not all about glamour, it also allows me to take part in charity events all over Great Britain and this year I am challenging myself to raise as much money as I possibly can to help the Miss Universe GB charity, Strongbones.

I'm extremely grateful to be a finalist in the Miss Universe GB competition alongside so many beautiful ladies. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to use this time wisely to explore and inspire from our own individual qualities. I will be centring my attention on things closest to my heart, with a main focus on creating instead of competing - or competing for a purpose other than just a title. I am passionate about martial arts and self-defence. I train most days and recently became an ambassador for the National Centre of Domestic Violence which offers emergency support to survivors of domestic abuse. I want to help people to overcome hardship and to recognise their abilities to rise with strength. I do work in acting, modelling and have done stunts for film. I love to read, write and spend time outdoors in nature. Nature is the source of all things, so I feel it's only right to do all that we can to nourish the environment - I launched an organics business a year ago to help minimise the use and exposure to chemicals after formularising something truly honest and echo friendly. I have always had a curiosity towards the sciences and often delve into anything that interests me. I have a diploma in nutrition, so I think that helped me when considering how different ingredients would work and interact with the organics. Learning opens endless possibilities - we should never stop seeking for ways in which to grow. Being a creative at heart, I'm a firm believer in encompassing mind, body and spirit as a whole. We can talk about ourselves all day long or admire external beauty on the surface, but what really matters is how we converge our inner beauty with being our true authentic selves.

I am a model, business studies graduate and am enrolling in a post-graduate course in commercial law. Since I was a little girl representing Great Britain in Miss Universe has always been my dream. I consider myself quite international as I have lived in Asia, Brazil and Switzerland prior to moving to London and I speak four languages. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to have met different people and learn different cultures. I love travelling and modelling gives me the opportunity to travel all over the world. I love to help others and used to do volunteer work in a retirement home. I would love to do more work with charities. I am also an arts enthusiast. I love fashion and writing and am also a columnist at Every Model Magazine. I also enjoy acting and music and have studied some theatre and acting. At school I used to have a girl band where I would sing and play several instruments, and was part of my school choir and orchestra. I am a very determined and hardworking person and I hope to inspire and help others to go after their dreams.

Iím Samantha, a professional dancer and ballet teacher at The Mandy & Shirley Morris School of Dance I am also the ballet coach for the Welsh Rhythmic Gymnastic Team. My ambition in life has always been to help others and to make a difference, in whatever way possible. We live in a wonderful yet terrifying world where life really is a lottery; being a part of this global pageant will help me and the other finalists to make a difference especially with our chosen charity Strongbones Childrenís Charitable Trust. This year I raised six thousand pounds for Save The Children by putting on a one night spectacular at St Davidís Hall Cardiff with The Mandy & Shirley Morris School of Dance. I felt a huge sense of achievement watching these young children dancing on stage, knowing that they were raising money to send to children in desperate need. I believe there is no greater feeling than knowing you have made a difference to someone else's life. Hopefully I will have inspired all my students to grow in confidence and to follow me in helping others and making a difference to the world. I am so excited and grateful to be a finalist in Miss Universe Great Britain. I aspire to become the best woman I can be and look forward to all the challenges ahead.

Since the age of six I have been watching Miss Universe with my sister and always dreaming of being one of the girls up on the stage representing her country at such a prestigious event. This is my third attempt at Miss Universe Great Britain as I believe persistency, hard work and self-belief are key elements to making your dreams become a reality. There is nothing that would make me more proud that flying the British flag on an international stage and I would give my absolute all at every single stage throughout my reign to be an exceptional role model for young women all across the world to inspire them to go after their dreams and be determined to succeed and be the best version of themselves. Being a young girl living in big city of London I have a strong work ethic. I am not shy of commitment and hard work. The concept of preparation for Miss Universe, working alongside charities, being the face of Miss Universe GB doesn't scare me; it excites me! I am so grateful for this opportunity to compete for the title once again and I feel more ready than ever to dedicate myself to the pageant and hopefully get the result of my dreams.

I believe ambition is the strong desire to be the very best and so my view on life is Ďgive it your allí. I am very excited to have been given this opportunity, to be able to push myself to be the very best I can be. I am determined with a strong work ethic, and I donít shy away from a challenge. Iíve worked in the NHS for around five years as a medical secretary. I also model part time, which has given me the confidence to feel comfortable in my own skin. Working in this industry helped me realize the importance of empowering and supporting other women. My passions in life are to travel and meet new people. I ventured to Australia alone when I was just 18. Following this, I worked as a counsellor in America. I was responsible for a group of young girls, being their mentor for the nine weeks of summer. Helping others and being purely selfless was humbling and changed my whole perspective. I returned for a second year as a director - this role was more focused on mentoring the new counsellors, building their self-esteem and focusing on working together. My aspirations in life are to be a good person and my ambition is to become an educational psychologist. I feel privileged to be a part of such a prestigious pageant. If I were fortunate enough to win Miss Universe GB, I would work tirelessly to make my country proud. Promoting self-belief, teamwork and selflessness. Aiming to empower other women to make a positive impact on the world and achieve their dreams!

Iím Jennifer Eve, a Lounge Hostess for Etihad at Manchester Airport. It is a pleasure to have been selected as one of 40 women competing for Miss Universe Great Britain 2016. My ambition is to fly as cabin crew, but my dream is to represent the UK and encourage women to make a difference. I have played the violin from a very early age and so far Iíve achieved six Associated Board of Music Certificates, a dedication award and the opportunity to perform at a variety of venues and events in Manchester. I finished my college diploma in 2012 with a DDD* in Travel and Tourism and have since gone on to work in hospitality and aviation. Entering the Miss Universe Great Britain pageant has given me a different outlook on life. I believe it encourages women to not only appreciate beauty but to be brave, confident and ambitious, an individual with a strong work ethic and a passion in everything you do. I am an extremely driven and focused 22-year-old from Glasgow, Scotland. At the age of 4yrs I began learning to play piano. Music is a big part of my life; I compose my own pieces and work constantly to improve my skills. After studying music at Glasgow University, I now play piano professionally and run an expanding business teaching piano. Exercise and staying in peak fitness has been important to me from a young age. When I was four, I started training in Shotokan Karate - going on to achieve my black belt at the age of 16. These accomplishments have given me a true understanding that you do not get anything unless you work for it and, if you set your mind to something and give it 100%, you can accomplish anything I strongly believe that every lesson you learn throughout your life moulds you into the person you are supposed to be. If it wasn't for training day in day out for my black belt in karate and disciplining myself to focus on my piano and push myself even harder when I wanted to give up, I would not be the strong minded, grounded, grateful, disciplined, hardworking, confident woman I am today.

I am very honoured and excited to have been given the opportunity to compete in this yearís Miss Universe GB. The chance to stand beside like-minded, passionate women from the UK is very humbling and a unique experience. I am determined to be the best version of me throughout this competition. People often ask what your goal in life is. Mine, is to and has always been to change the world, in whichever way I can, be someone people admire and ultimately be a positive role model. I am an advocate of empowerment in women, as a woman in business today itís something I feel very passionately about. I continually seek opportunities to educate myself on the topic in order to encourage and help unite powerful women. Miss Universe allows me the platform to speak about these topics to help educate others and continue to be a driving force for change. If I was lucky enough to win the title of Miss Universe GB, I would do my upmost to be the role model I want to be and hope to women around the world. My love for fashion has been with me from an early age and has inspired me to complete my degree in fashion technology at Herriot Watt University in Galashiels. My family and friends have been very supportive and inspirational in my life and have shown me happiness, kindness, consideration and compassion towards myself and others and these are traits that have helped to create the woman I am today. I am presently a director in my family's footwear business which was established in 1850 and is the oldest footwear company in Scotland. My outgoing fun loving character is proving popular with customers and my career allows me the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life throughout Scotland, England and Ireland which I enjoy immensely. My other passion is modelling having had the opportunity to model designer bridal wear such as Berta and Preach swimwear. My goal is to inspire people enabling them to feel worthy and believe in themselves as well as raising as much money as possible for those who need it most. If I can achieve this by being a spokesperson and raising awareness whilst being a role model, then I will feel contented and fulfilled.

HI, Iím Jess! I am 20 years old, from Liverpool and currently studying a marketing and events management degree. One day I would love to have a career that combines my degree with fashion, as I have always had a passion for designing and making clothes. An interesting fact about me is that I am a quarter Maori, my granddad was from New Zealand and came from the Maori tribe. Everyone always asks me if I can do the haka tribal dance, unfortunately I canít but Iíd love to learn! I am currently an ambassador for Project Code Red, a charity that helps to provide homeless women with health and sanitary projects. I think it is important for women to support other women in all walks of life, and to not be envious but inspired. As a finalist in the competition this year, I hope to use that platform to continue the work I do. To be given the opportunity to represent Great Britain at Miss Universe is a big dream of mine. I would dedicate myself to the role and represent my country with poise and pride, and hopefully as a role model for young women!

I don't see myself as beautiful, because I can see a lot of flaws. But if you can learn to love yourself and all the flaws, you can love other people so much better. That has the power to create happiness, and the freedom to make a difference. I am blessed to have a family full of unconditional love that has helped me learn to love myself. They have encouraged me to embrace all the qualities that make me Ďmeí, not to follow the rules of society but to be brave in my life choices, to be happy. This ideology is something I truly believe and aspire to live by, to find happiness in my aspirations and dreams and to inspire others to take the leap into finding what makes them happy, and most of all to enjoy this unbelievably beautiful world that we are so lucky to live in. I have recently graduated university attaining a Bachelor of Science degree in sport and nutrition which is an aspect I am also so passionate about. Health is not a factor we should take for granted and so my main career aspirations have always been focused on educating others in achieving positive health and wellbeing, through adapting unhealthy habits. I am honoured to be recognised as one of the finalists alongside other women selected due to their zest for life and shining beauty from within and out, women who have the ability to inspire a nation.

I am a proud and determined woman with an ambition to always better myself and represent Great Britain to my greatest capabilities. I am extremely grateful to be a finalist for Miss Universe Great Britain. The women who participate in Miss Universe competitions globally represent strength, self-belief, fierceness, and elegance. Not only do such qualities contribute to beauty, they are also extremely empowering. It is an honour to participate for a platform that celebrates powerful women. I hope to use this opportunity to better myself by building on my strengths, challenging my weaknesses and inspiring other women by promoting the confidence, speech, strength and positive movement of femininity internationally.

I feel I can bring strong creative talent and valuable experience that would help me in my role as a Miss Universe GB finalist. I am always seeking to build on my experience within a creative, dynamic environment. I am grateful to be part of and have the opportunity to learn from and contribute to a strong team of finalists as well as striving to win Miss Universe GB in an independent role. I have been fortunate enough to work as a model as well as writing a food and health blog. I strongly believe in empowering woman to be secure, confident and happy with who they are by way of a natural, healthy lifestyle I want to be able to achieve this by being part of organization that believes in the same ethos as myself and instils positive, realistic goals. I want to be on a platform that I can help and inspire others. Iím Laura and Iím 23 years old. I graduated in 2014 with a degree in criminology from Birmingham City University. My aspiration was to join the police force but since then I have become interested in taking a second degree in business and project management. Currently I work at UTC Aerospace Systems as the engineering department support. In September, I will begin an operations leadership graduate programme. My aspirations in life have always changed, however I consider myself to be a work oriented personality and I hope to become involved in the leadership of a business in the future. Iím naturally an introvert so in my spare time I love nothing more than to curl up in bed or by a window and read. I have been known to lend up to 16 books at a time from the library so Iím quite the bookworm! Contrary to this, Iím not shy and I love to travel and immerse myself in unfamiliar places. In 2014 I spent Christmas and New Year in Thailand with my closest friends, Iíll never forget it. One of my goals for next year is to swim with great white sharks in South Africa. Miss Universe Great Britain is a truly unique experience for me; I canít wait to use the opportunity to try something incredibly different and meet the other finalists!

At the age of 23 my aspirations in life have never been so high. In November 2015 I climbed a 5417ft Volcano in Iceland raising more than £2000 for a childrenís hospice. The trek was the both mentally and physically gruelling and a challenge that I will never forget. Returning home I had a real sense of self-belief and I knew that I if I set my mind to it, I could make my ambitions in life possible. I am now the director and business owner of Top Model of Sunderland, a modelling competition based in the North East of England. My job is to empower young women to believe in themselves, achieve their goals, build their confidence and if they are willing to work hard, they can reach their full potential. Ultimately, my dream is to expand from modelling events to running a successful wedding planning company. With great determination and the support from my friends and family I hope to represent Great Britain at the prestigious Miss Universe final. I believe this is a great platform for a womanís voice to be heard, to better the lives of others through charity work and to experience different cultures travelling the world.

I am 22-years-old from Essex and my dream is to represent Great Britain at this yearís Miss Universe. I am an advanced makeup artist for Bobbi Brown, where I get to enhance womenís natural beauty and make them feel beautiful and confident every day. My aspirations in life are to be happy, healthy and to make my family proud. My Miss Universe Great Britain experience has already made me realise that I can be confidently beautiful and also empower other women to feel the same. It would be a massive honour and achievement to represent Great Britain and to be able to inspire women and young girls to believe that they can do anything with self-belief and confidence.

My name is Rikaya, I am 27 years young and I am from a lovely city called Liverpool. I am a very friendly, enthusiastic, outgoing spirit - I believe that laughing makes you live longer! I graduated from Liverpool Hope University with a BA Honours degree in Child Psychology, then afterwards took a year out to go travelling. I absolutely love to travel, explore and experience new cultures. I also love to teach other communities about our wonderful British culture. I am currently a full-time commercial model and an aspiring TV presenter. I was lucky enough to the land the role as Kevin Hart's official tour Host for his #WhatNow World tour in February 2016. This was a total dream come true and proves that you really can do just anything if you put your mind and energy to it. I have always been focused and determined to achieve the best I can. I am a firm believer that anything is possible! If I were lucky enough to win Miss Universe GB, I would do my very best to encourage women to believe in themselves and have the confidence to reach their full potential. Nothing is as special as women who empower other women. I hope that I can inspire others to exceed their goals and not be afraid to dream big. Fun facts: ē I am a Haribo sweets junkie, but they have to go in the fridge first! ē I have a photographic memory and can remember how many letters are in almost any word within seconds!

I am so grateful and proud to have been selected as one of the finalists for Miss Universe GB, and given the opportunity to meet other empowering women who share similar interests and outlooks on life. I am currently finishing my second year of studying law at Oxford Brooke's University. One of my aspirations is to be a barrister specialising in human rights law, while another is to travel the world to meet new people and experience new cultures. Winning the Miss Universe GB title would be one step towards achieving these goals, and would give me a perfect platform from which to promote the Miss Universe GB chosen charities of Strongbones Childrenís Charitable Trust and Sheroes Hangout in India. I aim to help boost the confidence of other women and encourage them to see that with hard work and support, that they too can broaden their horizons and achieve their aspirations in life. Although Great Britain has some of the most beautiful women in the world, we have never been lucky enough to have won the Miss Universe crown. If I were awarded the Miss Universe GB title, I would seek to change that statistic and make British pageant history.

It has always been a dream of mine to walk the prestigious stage of Miss Universe and I am extremely grateful and honoured to be a MUGB finalist. One of the key aspects of MUGB is the empowerment of women and being confident in your own skin, I know that I have a lot to offer and can relate to a lot of women out there to help inspire them to be confidentially beautiful and help them to go after their ambitions in life I am 24 years old; I work full time as a Recruitment Consultant in the Construction Industry and I come small town outside of London in Hertfordshire. I have an awesome family who I love dearly, particularly my stubborn Bassett Hound Nelson. In my spare time I like to be around my family and friends as well as keeping fit in the gym living a healthy lifestyle. I know that I have the qualities and skills it takes to become the next Miss Universe GB and if I am lucky enough to win the title I would like to help raise awareness of domestic violence not only against women but men too as this is a topic very close to my heart. It would be an honour to represent my country in the International final, to get the chance to travel, meet friends all across the world and help great causes along the way. It is time to put the great in Great Britain.
